For a brief background to the Red Book, note the following articles, audio and video sources below.

The Holy Grail of the Unconscious (magazine article): This eight page article in the New York Times Magazine gives a lovely overview of how the Red Book came to be released by the heirs of Jung’s archives.

Inside Jung’s Red Book: Six Questions for Sonu Shamdasani appeared in Harper’s Magazine. Provides brief interview with the translator of the Red Book.

Carl Jung’s Secret Book (audio interview): An excellent thirty minute interview with Sara Corbett, author of the above New York Times Magazine article, “The Holy Grail of the Unconscious”.

Jung’s Inner Universe, Writ Large (news article): This three page article draws attention to the unexpected sales of the Red Book.

The Red Book: A Window into Jung’s Dreams (audio news story): This five minute piece appeared on NPR, and contains voice footage of Carl Jung, as well as news of the Red Book exhibition at the Rubin Museum in New York City.

C.G. Jung and the Red Book (video lecture): A three-part 90 minute video lecture by Dr. Stephan Hoeller, delivered on June 6, 2009 to the C.G. Jung Club of Orange County, California. I found the most valuable part of this series in Part One in which the cultural background of the early 1900’s was laid out showing the widespread practice of séances as an influence on the imaginal method (Active Imagination) Jung used in the Red Book.
